InstaMAT’s next release will deliver powerful upgrades like generative terrain tools, new curve nodes, and enhanced viewport performance. It builds on what artists love while unlocking even more creative possibilities.
InstaMAT’s upcoming release will offer a powerful suite of new tools and features that will simplify workflows, enhance creative control, and speed up the process of creating AAA-level 3D assets. Whether you’re a solo creator or part of a larger team, these updates will ensure that InstaMAT remains a go-to solution for texture and material creation. And the best part? With the zero-cost InstaMAT Pioneer License, you’ll get full access to all these exciting new features, absolutely free, as soon as they’re live!
Next-Gen Terrain Workflow
Leading the charge will be a generative terrain system designed to craft AAA immersive, large-scale environments. New erosion simulation tools will allow for natural formations shaped by water, snow, and geological processes. These nodes will not only sculpt terrain but also dynamically apply materials based on real-world features like slope, elevation, and curvature—making it easier than ever to build textured, believable biomes. Export-ready splatmaps will allow you to quickly texture entire environments using InstaMAT’s extensive library of AAA-quality generative materials. With the ability to generate and texture landscapes, place assets, and export complete scenes—all within a single, unified graph—InstaMAT will remove the need for complex, multi-app workflows. This integrated approach will simplify the entire creative process, reducing setup time and enhancing efficiency for faster scene creation.

Curves, Stylization & Creative Control
The update will also introduce enhanced curve tools, perfect for creating smooth, organic shapes and patterns. The built-in Curve Editor will allow for easy tracing, manipulation, and control over curve direction, smoothing, and resolution. InstaMAT’s Curves Scatter and Curves Mapper nodes will allow you to quickly scatter assets like foliage or fabric textures along paths, and apply complex patterns to your curves.
Stylized creators will appreciate the new AAA stylized materials added to the material library and filter nodes, which will enable painterly effects with algorithms like Kuwahara and Symmetric Nearest Neighbor. Additionally, Mesh Bake Light and Mesh Bake Shadows nodes will allow lighting effects to be baked directly into material color data, giving you better control over light positioning and streamlining the creation of stylized or mobile-ready assets.
Better Viewport, Smarter Nodes
Rendering and workflow enhancements will also be a key part of this release, with notable improvements to the real-time viewport. Ray-traced shadows will provide more accurate previews of your final assets, helping you to visualize materials and lighting in real time. You can now also import custom HDRIs to illuminate your scenes in the viewport, ensuring lighting consistency across your project and reducing the need for rework. Additionally, new vertex color-based masking will let you create more precise masks directly in the viewport, streamlining the texturing process and saving you time when using InstaMAT’s layering engine.
New utility nodes will also be added. Noise removal and data parsing will simplify complex tasks within the graph, making InstaMAT not just a visual tool, but a highly flexible, programmable creative platform. These updates will empower artists to handle more complex workflows efficiently, all within the same environment.
